This publication shows the ranking of States and counties in order of importance for selected items for the 1997 Census of Agriculture. Items ranked include: number of farms, value of products sold, inventory of livestock and poultry, and production and acreage of major crops. Most tables show data for 20 leading States and 100 leading counties. Also, most tables include the cumulative percent of the U.S. total as each leading State or county is ranked.
