As a follow-up to the 2007 Census, USDA conducted its first-ever, wide-scale survey of organic agriculture in 2008. Survey results provide vital data on many aspects of organic farming, including production, marketing and economics.
The Census of Horticultural Specialties, conducted once every 10 years, provides the only comprehensive, detailed picture of U.S. floriculture, nursery and specialty crop operations.
As a follow-up to the Census of Agriculture, NASS is conducting its first-ever survey focused on renewable energy. The On-Farm Energy Production Survey will gather information about energy production on America’s farms and ranches including the use of wind turbines, solar panels, anaerobic digesters and other alternative energy sources.
